Jason T. Landgraf, 48, of Sheboygan, has died after being struck by a semitrailer while on Interstate 43 in the town of Mosel on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities said the incident occurred shortly after 4:12 p.m. on northbound I-43 near Garton Road following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a large truck. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found that Jason T. Landgraf, 48, had been struck on the highway.
Investigators stated that Landgraf had pulled his Ford Explorer onto the shoulder before exiting the vehicle, at which point he was hit by a passing semitrailer traveling northbound. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
Officials confirmed that the Wisconsin State Patrol is leading the crash reconstruction effort. Preliminary findings indicate that factors such as weather, impairment, speed, or road construction were not involved in the incident.
Authorities added that no further details are being released at this time as the investigation continues.
