Kharon Webster, a 77-year-old woman, has died after sustaining injuries in a two-vehicle collision at a busy Salisbury intersection.
Authorities in Salisbury responded on April 11 at approximately 5:29 p.m. to reports of a serious crash near the junction of Route 50 and Hobbs Road. When officers arrived, they found two heavily damaged vehicles with emergency crews already providing aid to those involved.
Preliminary findings show that a Jeep Compass was heading north on Hobbs Road and entered the intersection, where it collided with a westbound Toyota Sienna traveling along Route 50. The impact involved multiple occupants across both vehicles, with a total of five people transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
One of the passengers in the Jeep Compass, identified as Kharon Webster, later died at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the collision as part of an ongoing advanced crash investigation. Authorities have also requested that any witnesses come forward with information that may assist in the case.
