Allen Holman dies in fatal New Market plane crash

Fatal New Market plane crash death of Allen Holman – Obituary

Authorities have released the identities of two individuals who lost their lives in a plane crash earlier this week in New Market. One of the victims has been identified as 74-year-old Allen Holman of Knoxville.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the aircraft went down in a field off Burchell Road, between Lost Creek Road and Nances Ferry Road. The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the Beechcraft 58 crashed around 1:10 p.m. on Monday.

The second victim was identified as 49-year-old Edwin (Rory) Robbins DuPont of Seymour. Officials extended their condolences to the families affected by the tragedy.

Holman, a retired engineer, was an experienced pilot who had been licensed since 1984 and had accumulated more than 4,000 hours of flight time.

Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
