Authorities in Osceola County, Florida have identified 18-year-old Daesean Anthony Moctezuma as the victim of a deadly shooting that took place during a large house party in Davenport.
Deputies say the incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. at a home on Sommerset Hills Drive, where a large gathering was underway at a short-term rental property. Multiple people were shot during the chaos. Moctezuma was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Two other victims, an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old, were also injured in the shooting but are expected to recover. Investigators believe the violence was an isolated incident and are continuing their search for the suspect.
Officials noted that similar unauthorized house parties have become a growing concern in the area, often drawing large crowds and leading to dangerous situations. Law enforcement says these gatherings are frequently organized online and can escalate quickly.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office stated it will increase enforcement efforts to crack down on illegal parties and is asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
