Murray Kenneth Paxton and Emery Thomas Woody die in fatal Lexington County car crash

Fatal Lexington County car crash deaths of Murray Kenneth Paxton and Emery Thomas Woody – Obituary

Murray Kenneth Paxton, 90, of Lexington, and Emery Thomas Woody, 22, of Augusta, were both killed Saturday morning in a head-on collision on Interstate 20 in Lexington County. The crash occurred near the 63-mile marker around 10:30 a.m.

Authorities reported that Paxton was driving east in the westbound lanes when his car collided with Woody’s westbound vehicle. Paxton was wearing a seatbelt, while Woody was not. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
