Authorities have identified the woman who died in a collision in Blendon Township last week as 59-year-old Toni Laws of Zeeland.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office reported that emergency crews responded around 5:14 a.m. on February 17 to the intersection of Port Sheldon Street and 72nd Avenue. A semi-truck failed to stop and struck a pickup truck on the passenger side, causing both vehicles to overturn into a nearby ditch.
Laws, who was riding in the passenger seat of the pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 56-year-old driver of the pickup was hospitalized in critical condition and continues to receive medical care. The 54-year-old semi-truck driver from Butler, Kentucky, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also treated at a hospital.
