Authorities in Baltimore County have confirmed that a 64-year-old man lost his life following a head-on collision in Parkton.
Police identified the victim as Lawrence Martin Jr., who was driving along the 1100 block of Mount Carmel Road when the crash occurred shortly after noon on Wednesday. According to investigators, Martin was traveling eastbound in a 2011 Honda CR-V when his vehicle crossed over the center line of the roadway.
Moments later, his SUV collided head-on with a 2004 Dodge Dakota that was heading in the opposite direction. Emergency responders arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the crash, but Martin was pronounced dead at the location.
The driver of the Dodge Dakota sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officials say the incident remains under investigation as authorities continue working to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
