Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life in a collision in Sky Valley. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 45-year-old Israel Hernandez.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly before 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of 22nd Avenue and Marshall Road, close to Desert Hot Springs. Investigators say a Toyota Camry collided with a John Deere Gator that was traveling along the shoulder of the roadway.
Hernandez, who was operating the all-terrain vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials are still working to determine what led to the crash, and no further details have been released as the investigation continues.
