Authorities have identified the man who died following a multi-vehicle collision along Highway 1 near Carmel-by-the-Sea. The victim was 96-year-old William Ziering, a local resident.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. on April 9. Investigators say Ziering was driving a Lexus sedan southbound behind a Subaru operated by a 24-year-old woman from Oakland.
