Authorities in Salem, Indiana are investigating the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Jameson Crawford, as another teenager now faces charges in connection with the incident.
Police were called to a residence on East Oak Drive at approximately 7:10 p.m. on April 19, where they discovered Crawford suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers from the Salem Police Department requested assistance from the Indiana State Police shortly after arriving.
Following an initial investigation conducted by state police detectives, a second 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody. The teen has been charged with reckless homicide and is currently being held at a juvenile detention facility in Fort Wayne.
Investigators say the case remains active as they continue gathering details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting.
